OFFA: university access agreements

23 August 2017

Commenting on the announcement of the OFFA’s access agreements, Sarah Stevens, Head of Policy at the Russell Group, said:

“This year Russell Group universities will spend £264 million on access programmes for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, rising to £270 million in 2018/19. This demonstrates the long-term commitment our members are making to ensuring learners with the qualifications, potential and determination to succeed at a leading university have the opportunity to do so.

“Our members work with around 2,000 schools and tens of thousands of young people across the country raising attainment and aspirations among those who may need some help and support to achieve their potential.

“This continuous investment in programmes to support access and successful outcomes encourages more young people to aspire to study at university and improve their chances of moving into a good career.”
