Russell Group response to UUK report on regulatory burden

Commenting on today’s report by Universities UK and Moorhouse Consulting on 'understanding the burden of regulation', Jamie Roberts, Policy Manager at the Russell Group said:

“It is right that universities are held accountable by the Regulator to ensure the efficient use of public funds and that students receive a high quality education. However, it is also important that the OfS and DfE continue to work with the sector to identify ways to reduce bureaucracy and regulatory burden for highly compliant providers.

"We welcome moves towards a genuine risk-based approach so universities can focus on what they do best – delivering innovative teaching, supporting students to learn and conducting ground-breaking research and innovation.”
