Professor Shitij Kapur is Vice-Chancellor & President of King’s College London.

Professor Kapur returned to King’s in June 2021 after more than four years at the University of Melbourne, where he was Dean and Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Health) for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International). 

He previously served in several leadership positions at King’s from 2007 to 2016. Professor Kapur graduated from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi in 1988, before completing a Fellowship in Schizophrenia and a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and holds fellowships at the Academy of Medical Sciences (UK), the Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (Australia), and King’s College London.
