The Invention Rooms is a unique space in Imperial’s White City Deep Tech Campus at the heart of the Imperial WestTech Corridor, where the local community and Imperial come together to collaborate, innovate and make.

The facility hosts Imperial’s extensive social outreach programme offers an inclusive environment where local people of all ages and backgrounds can learn new STEM skills, overcome digital isolation, and join mentorship programmes to develop leadership skills on issues of importance to them.

Imperial’s Agents of Change is a Women’s Community Leadership programme and network designed to empower local women who are passionate leaders, committed to driving positive social change within the communities of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea. To date, 60 remarkable local women have participated in the programme, with participants benefitting from a network Imperial has built with over 200 individuals and collaborations with organisations such as Westfield London.

With cutting edge facilities in a friendly and welcoming environment, Imperial also looks to support inventors, entrepreneurs and makers from the local area and beyond. The Invention Rooms is home to Imperial’s Advanced Hackspace, a highly accessible environment for Imperial students, staff, alumni and other members to turn their ideas into breakthrough prototypes and solutions. It provides access to specialist manufacturing equipment, including a well-equipped bio lab, state-of-the-art 3D printing, electronics, metalwork and woodwork equipment, alongside training and a community of like-minded members.
