Educating our future NHS workforce
Universities are ready to work with government to refresh the long-term workforce plan and expand training further.
Situated conveniently between the financial heart of the City of London, the fintech hub of Canary Wharf and the revolutionary start-ups of Tech City in Shoreditch, Queen Mary is uniquely positioned to deliver degree apprenticeship programmes to the highest academic and professional standards.
Programmes supported by QMUL, which are supporting the UK skills pipeline in high growth sectors such as financial services, include software engineer and IT consultant apprenticeships and postgraduate-level apprenticeships for economists and people seeking to build a career in clinical education.
Queen Mary partners with a diverse range of employers including a number of leading international financial services firms and banks, global pharmaceutical firms, national retailers, IT/technology companies and a growing number of SME’s and organisations from the third and charitable sectors. The university has helped these organisations to diversify their recruitment and secure the next generation of talent. Queen Mary apprentices get to work alongside experienced professionals throughout their programme, gaining useful work experience while completing their studies. They have the advantage of putting theory learnt in the classroom to practical experience in the workplace.
