Alternative providers

Commenting on the BIS statement on alternative providers of higher education, Dr Wendy Piatt, Director General of the Russell Group, said:
“The UK has an excellent reputation for the highest standards of higher education around the world and that reputation and quality needs to be safeguarded at all costs.
“Today’s announcement that more robust measures will be introduced to ensure the quality of alternative providers is very welcome.
“It is important that the standards, quality and reputation of the UK higher education sector can be maintained and it is right that alternative providers should have to meet the same requirements for quality assurance and regulation as other universities.”
