Russell Group responds to Government investment in technical education

11 June 2021

Responding to the Government announcement of additional funding to boost higher technical skills, Dr Hollie Chandler, Head of Policy (Higher Education) at the Russell Group, said:

“Expanding the UK’s skilled workforce to face the big challenges of the future is key to our post-Covid recovery. We believe Government must be ambitious for further and higher education so welcome investment to help grow high-quality technical education across colleges and universities.

“Our universities train thousands of skilled workers including doctors, teachers, nurses, engineers and architects. They are also helping to deliver high-quality technical education through collaborations with employers and colleges, as well as offering degree apprenticeships. Alongside this five are leading or supporting the establishment of the UK’s new Institutes of Technology to deliver Higher Technical Qualifications from 2022.”
