Tax relief limit on charitable donations

Dr Wendy Piatt, Director General of the Russell Group, said:

"We are pleased the Government has listened to the concerns of universities and has dropped the cap on charitable giving. Our institutions are increasingly reliant on philanthropic donations as we strive to remain world-class. Even a small drop in charitable donations would have represented a loss of tens of millions of pounds a year to Russell Group universities so this proposal to introduce a cap was of huge concern to us."
