Degree apprenticeship in engineering
University of Exeter has joined a partnership between engineering firm Laing O’Rourke and others to offer a part-time civil engineering degree apprenticeship.
The BEng Civil Engineering Site Management degree will see students study over a five-year period through a combination of on-campus residential, blended learning and real-world projects.
Laing O’Rourke is collaborating with Hinkley Point C partners BYLOR, and with EDF Energy, to deliver a comprehensive programme alongside University of Exeter which will provide students with the dual benefits of studying at a top 10 UK engineering establishment while gaining valuable industry experience.
The initial intake for 2017 will comprise of 25 students split across the delivery partners. Each student will earn a salary throughout their studies and have their tuition fees paid for by the company they are working with.
