This briefing document outlines some examples of what Russell Group universities are doing to support disadvantaged students during Covid-19 and maintain their widening access and participation activities online, as well as providing mental health support and guidance.
This includes initiatives such as:
- online and telephone counselling
- tips and seminars on social media
- food vouchers and grants for care leavers and estranged students
- laptop grants and loan schemes
- online and distanced mentoring
- virtual teacher conferences and open days
