How universities are helping in the region
Newcastle University – Helix: building world leading knowledge infrastructure for the North East
The Helix brings together businesses, academics and other regional groups to tackle a range of modern challenges such as creating a carbon neutral society. The next phase of the project will also provide affordable homes for hundreds of families.
We are proud to play our role in the civic life of the North East and of our record in creating jobs and driving investment into our region.
— Professor Chris Day, Vice-Chancellor and President of Newcastle University
