New OfS Condition on Sexual Harassment

Commenting on the publication of new OfS requirements on preventing harassment and sexual misconduct, a Russell Group spokesperson said:

“Our universities are working to build an environment where everyone is absolutely clear that harassment and sexual misconduct is wholly unacceptable, and victims are confident in reporting incidents and can get the help they need. The sobering figures from the OfS pilot survey show why this work is so important.

“Russell Group universities review their policies regularly as part of their ongoing commitment to promoting equality and safeguarding the rights and dignity of all students and staff.  Our members will be looking at the detail of the new OfS guidance closely to ensure their procedures are in line with the expectations of the regulator, and serve to protect students and respond to the needs of victims.”
