Russell Group response to UK-Swiss science co-operation agreement

In response to the Memorandum of Understanding signed today (10 November) by the UK and Switzerland, deepening the relationship between the two countries’ world-leading research and innovation communities, Jess Cole, Director of Policy at the Russell Group, said:

"Collaboration leads to more impactful research and innovation, so strengthening the partnership between the UK and Switzerland – two countries with proven track records in world-class research – is very welcome.

"Our universities look forward to building on this agreement to explore opportunities for new and exciting projects in areas such as life sciences, quantum, space and green technology.

"This agreement also underlines the importance of international collaboration and why finalising UK and Swiss association to Horizon Europe will enhance not just this agreement but wider collaboration across Europe with all the benefits it provides."
