Statement on plans for teaching this academic year
20 September 2021
Commenting on plans for teaching ahead of the start of the autumn term, a Russell Group spokesperson said:
“Russell Group universities are looking forward to welcoming all students back on campus for the start of the new academic year. Students can expect most seminars, small group classes and lab work to be taught in-person, alongside a range of extra-curricular activity, social events and support services on campus.
“An element of digital learning, which was also an important feature of university courses pre-pandemic, will continue – this is used primarily to enhance learning, for example with flipped lectures where students are encouraged to do background work prior to in-person sessions.
“We know that many students see benefits in keeping some lectures online, welcoming the increased flexibility in the learning process, greater accessibility and better engagement with course content.”
